Bramley Moore Dock Stadium reveal leaves radio producer in Everton meltdown

Bramley Moore Dock’s first test event at Everton left a radio producer in meltdown after information that was revealed.

As Everton prepare for the move to their new stadium at the end of the season, a first test event took place with 10,000 spectators.

Unfortunately for the home side, it was a 2-1 defeat for their under-18s against Wigan, but supporters will be hoping that doesn’t set the precedent going forward.

It was matters off the pitch that left some so unimpressed, though.

Bramley Moore Dock reveal produces Everton meltdown

As the Toffees prepare to embark on their new journey to Bramley Moore Dock, there will be plenty of change.

While loved by many, Goodison Park is a tired stadium and with the Blues trying to look forward, their new home is certainly reflective of that.

Bramley Moore Dock is a clean, modern stadium, and with that comes new offerings and increased options.

However, it was revealed live on talkSPORT by Andy Goldstein (18 February) that a producer on the show was somehow left baffled by what was on the food menu at the new stadium.

Goldstein said: “Just a quick word about the shiny new stadium after that test event last night.

“I just wonder, our producer Joe had a meltdown in the meeting today when he was going on about ‘what’s going on with new stadiums. Everton, they put the menu up in the newspaper today. Salt and pepper chicken, what? And he went nuts.

“He’s not happy with new stadium vibes, new stadium food, beers. Now the fine dining aspect is not for the everyday man but football is moving on.”

Everton moving towards a new era

When things change, it will always throw people off especially when it’s so far away from what came before.

In the producers’ defence, traditional football food selection of things like pies are what you would tend to expect and always go down a treat.

However, the amount of new options for the Toffees does sound very exciting and certainly signifies a more high-end era that should be coming to Everton.

Since the return of David Moyes as manager, things on the pitch have started to seriously improve and with 13 points separating the Blues from the relegation zone, better times are set to come in Merseyside.

Everton will have to be cautious in their progression to ensure they do not get themselves into an unsustainable position due to trying to push for too much too soon.

If the Toffees move to Bramley Moore Dock as a top-flight team looking much improved in the way they are playing, the last thing supporters will be worried about is the food that is on offer.

Furthermore, if more money can be generated through more and better offerings inside the stadium, that will only assist the Blues in their aims to push themselves forward.
