Angus Kinnear front-runner as TFG eye major changes at Everton
Angus Kinnear has been identified as the front-runner by The Friedkin Group (TFG) as they eye major changes at Everton.
The Americans completed their takeover of the Toffees from Farhad Moshiri in December 2024 and have since changed the mood among the fanbase.
David Moyes has all but secured Premier League survival for the Blues after replacing Sean Dyche, a change that has worked wonders for TFG.
David Weir is on the radar at Goodison as the Friedkins look to make significant changes to the Merseyside outfit’s backroom staff.
TFG putting together new executive structure as Angus Kinnear eyed
TFG are looking to put a new executive structure in place at Goodison Park as they eye Kinnear, according to The Telegraph.
The news outlet reports (20 February) that the Leeds United chief executive officer has been identified as a potentially key new member by the Toffees.
Nolan Partners have been hired by the Friedkins to search for a new CEO, and Kinnear has emerged as a leading option for the Blues.
It will be interesting to see whether the West Yorkshire outfit will let an influential member of their backroom staff join Everton as they look set for Premier League promotion.

TFG showing ambition with Angus Kinnear links
TFG have helped fans forget Moshiri already after some prudent decisions at the Toffees, the biggest one being sacking Dyche.
The former Burnley manager looked out of his depth at Goodison Park, and Moyes’ arrival has highlighted his predecessors’ ineptitude.
As things stand, the Blues are 14th in the league table after going on an impressive unbeaten run in the English top flight.
Premier League table | Points |
14. Everton | 30 |
18. Ipswich Town | 17 |
19. Leicester City | 17 |
20. Southampton | 9 |
The Scottish manager has managed to squeeze every ounce of quality from a depleted squad and deserves immense praise.
If not for Moyes, the Merseyside outfit may still have been lurching around the relegation zone, and a drop to the Championship looked likely under Dyche.
The Toffees are 13 points above 18th-place Ipswich Town as things stand, and the Goodison faithful can evidently be confident of ending the season in the Premier League.
There seems to be a bright future on the horizon for the Blues, and Kinnear would arguably be an impressive addition for them.
