Everton make move to sign Olympic gold medallist as new offer revealed
Everton have set their sights on adding an Olympic gold medallist to their ranks with details about a new offer now coming to light.
David Moyes made Carlos Alcaraz his only signing of the winter transfer window, roping him in from Flamengo on a loan-to-buy deal on deadline day.
Everton’s financial constraints meant that they had little leeway to bolster their ranks for the second half of the season despite the Friedkin Group buying the club from Farhad Moshiri in December.
However, that could change in the summer, meaning the Goodison Park outfit could make major additions to their squad for next season, with efforts to sign one player already underway.

Everton approach to sign Juanlu Sanchez
Everton have approached Sevilla to sign Juanlu Sanchez, according to Mundo Deportivo, who describe him as the ‘man of the moment’ in Seville.
The Spanish newspaper reported via their website on Wednesday (19 February) that Brighton, RB Leipzig and Galatasaray have made moves to sign the 21-year-old alongside the Toffees, with some even making offers.
This comes after it emerged that Everton failed with an attempt to sign Sanchez on the final day of the recently concluded winter transfer window.
Meanwhile, Sevilla are determined to retain the versatile full-back‘s services and have made an offer to extend his contract beyond 2026.
The La Liga club want to double his existing release clause to £33.1million.
Sanchez, for his part, wants to continue at Sevilla, having been associated with them since he was a child, but is approaching things slowly.

Juanlu Sanchez would shine at Goodison Park
Sanchez was a part of the Spain football team that won Gold at the Summer Olympics in Paris last year.
The Spaniard has also been in red-hot form for Sevilla this season, bagging five goals and four assists in 22 appearances across all competitions.
Having come through the ranks at Sevilla as a right-back, he is also comfortable playing in other positions, including central midfield and attack.
It is a testament to his abilities that Sanchez is Sevilla’s second-highest goalscorer this season, with only Dodi Lukebaki netting more than him.
