Parlour amazed by what Brazil said about Everton v Man Utd – ‘unbelievable’

Ray Parlour was left amazed by what Alan Brazil said ahead of the Premier League clash between Everton and Manchester United on Saturday.

The Toffees have been in impressive form since David Moyes’ return with the Merseyside outfit managing to win four out of their last five top-flight games.

Before the Scotsman’s return, there were genuine fears that the 2024/25 campaign would be one the Toffees dropped down into the Championship.

Parlour and Brazil were speaking about the upcoming clash between the two bottom-half clubs when the latter said pointed out something that Parlour clearly finds surprising.

Ray Parlour amazed Everton are ahead of Manchester United

At the moment, Everton are sat on 30 points with a goal difference of minus four to their name.

The likes of Beto and even Jesper Lindstrom have really come into their own over the last couple of weeks and it’s hard to see the Merseyside outfit slowing down any time soon, especially with the belief that Moyes has instilled into his team since his Goodison Park return.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (21 February, 07:06am), Brazil and Parlour gave their verdicts on Moyes’ return to management.

“The results he’s [Moyes] had since [taking over Everton] have been unbelievable,” Parlour said.

To which Brazil replied: “Man United head to Goodison for the first time and come up against a familiar face in the dugout, David Moyes, who’s turned the Toffees into the form team in the Premier League.

“And, they go into the game above Manchester United, can you believe that?”

Parlour then said: “Yeah I know, amazing.”

David Moyes has been Everton’s saviour

Without Moyes coming in to replace Sean Dyche when he did, it feels like the Toffees would have been on the cusp of the drop zone at this moment in time.

They were already teetering on the edge with the former Burnley boss at the helm but, as the season went on, it felt like things weren’t getting any better, which for a team of Everton’s stature, was far from ideal.

However, the fact that The Friedkin Group chose to take the plunge and make a move to bring the Scotsman back to Merseyside has seemingly paid off.

In fact, if they manage to finish in the top half of the table by the end of the term, it could be seen as one of the best things that a Premier League club has done this season.

Because, if they did end up getting relegated this term, there would have been a lot of questions needing to be answered with plenty of jobs likely to be put on the line.
