Premier League boardrooms speculate as ‘Everton set for another new appointment’

Everton are making plenty of key changes throughout the backbone of their club’s operations now The Friedkin Group are at the helm.

With the expectancy that Kevin Thelwell will leave Everton when his contract expires at the end of this season, a new Director of Football is high on the agenda.

A CEO to oversee business operations is also a requirement, and Leeds United chief Angus Kinnear is highly regarded by the new ownership group at Goodison Park.

Everton close in on new board appointment

Everton are edging closer to agreeing a deal to bring Kinnear to Merseyside from the summer with Premier League boardrooms aware of developments, according to Alex Crook.

The talkSPORT chief correspondent posted on X (26 February) to reveal the new update, with rival clubs speculating on the new activity ongoing with the Toffees.

Everton fans are excited for a new era which feels underway already given the drastic upturn of the team’s form under David Moyes, with the Friedkins having already shown themselves to be unafraid of going straight for what they want.

Crook shared: “Expectation from people within Premier League boardrooms is that Angus Kinnear leaves Leeds United to become the new CEO of Everton at the end of the season.”

Kinnear is a highly esteemed figure at Elland Road and the Leeds United board are not eager to be potentially losing his services at the top table.

Kinnear to leave Leeds for Everton

It is clear why Everton are after Kinnear as part of another new step towards an era of strength, progress and ultimately glory.

The Leeds CEO has brought success on and off the field at his current and previous clubs ever since graduating from marketing staff to an established chief on the board of directors.

Under Kinnear, West Ham United moved into the Olympic Stadium (now the London Stadium) – experience which could be key in stabilising the move to Bramley-Moore Dock this summer – and he also oversaw the promotion of Leeds back to the Premier League in 2020.

Thelwell is set to be replaced over the summer with a fond farewell, having brought in the bulk of the players proving fruitful under Moyes right now, but having also recruited some suspect signings during his tenure.

Moyes has been a credit to the Toffees and certainly not for the first time in his managerial career, as the Scotsman picks up where he left off in 2013 in some style.

Finally, Everton supporters have plenty to be excited for, with an ownership striving for the very best.
