Alcaraz ‘absolutely furious’ with Beto after Everton incident v Brentford
Carlos Alcaraz cut an angry figure after what Beto did in the 1-1 draw between Brentford and Everton on Wednesday.
Everton came from a goal behind to leave Brentford with a point, with Jake O’Brien nullifying Yoana Wissa’s opener at the stroke of half-time, although their plan to return to winning ways after a 2-2 draw with Manchester United did not work out.
David Moyes and Co will feel they could have taken all three points, though, as Beto had multiple 1v1 chances against Mark Flekken in the Bees’ goal.
Beto has been in red-hot form for the Goodison Park outfit in recent weeks, scoring in each of their previous four games, but did not have his scoring boots on against Thomas Frank’s side and left Alcaraz fuming on one occasion.
Sue Smith spots Alcaraz and Beto incident
Beto had the chance to grab a winner for Everton with just two minutes left in normal time as he found himself 1v1 against Flekken, who ultimately denied him.
However, Sue Smith noticed how the Guinea-Bissau international opted to go for glory himself despite having the option to pass the ball to Alcaraz to finish.
Minutes | Shot Accuracy | Big Chances Missed | Touches (In Box) | Duels |

The pundit also noted how the Argentinian was “absolutely furious” with his teammate for not passing the ball and kicked the ball away in frustration, resulting in him being booked.
Speaking on Sky Sports News (26 February, 9:19 pm), Smith said: “He’s had three 1v1s against Flekken, it’s another brilliant opportunity for Beto, another really good save from Flekken.
“The ball is over the top, Beto uses his pace, Pinnock slides in, gets a touch on it, but Beto is still 1v1.
“He had Alcaraz, he could have slid in Alcaraz, he doesn’t. He goes for the little chip and Alcaraz is absolutely furious, he just boots the ball away.
“Flekken manages to get the touch and it is still 1-1.”

Beto’s Everton goalscoring streak ends
There is no doubt that Beto will be disappointed with himself after failing to find the back of the net against Brentford despite having two big chances in what was an eventual Premier League encounter.
The 27-year-old will also be disappointed about his goalscoring streak for Everton coming to an end.
He notably bagged five goals in the Toffees’ four Premier League games before they visited Brentford.
Beto will be determined to get his name back on the scoresheet when the Merseyside-based club lock horns with Wolves at the Molineux Stadium on 8 March.
