Everton news: Brand new Goodison Park twist emerges after takeover promise
Everton will be moving out of Goodison Park and into Bramley-Moore Dock next season, but they’re now considering a plan for their current home ground.
The Friedkin Group completed their takeover at the end of December and made a number of promises once they purchased the shares from Farhad Moshiri.
Overseeing the transition to the new stadium was undoubtedly one of them and they’ve already made a big move by hiring David Moyes.

Toffees could see the women’s team playing at Goodison Park
The women’s game is growing and the new owners will be looking to capitalise on it.
The Athletic reported on 28 February that the Friedkin Group had vowed to invest significantly into the women’s team.
They certainly lived up to their expectations in the January transfer window by signing five new players including midfielder Hayley Ladd from Manchester United, France forward Kelly Gago from Nantes and the loan signing of Barcelona defender Martina Fernandez.
However, they are now considering a brand new plan which would make Goodison Park the home of the women’s team.
WSL games may now be played weekly at the current home of Everton
Relocating the Everton Women’s team to Goodison Park could significantly boost the club’s profile and growth.
Playing at the iconic 39,000-capacity stadium, rather than the smaller Walton Hall Park, offers greater visibility and aligns with the rising popularity of women’s football, as seen with record WSL attendances.
Goodison’s historic atmosphere could attract larger crowds, enhancing revenue through ticket sales and merchandise while fostering a stronger connection between the men’s and women’s sides under the club banner.

Improved facilities and pitch quality would elevate performance, aiding competitiveness in a league where top teams like Arsenal and Chelsea benefit from similar setups.
It also signals ambition, potentially drawing higher-calibre players and sponsors.
With the men’s team set to move to Bramley-Moore Dock, transitioning the women’s team to Goodison now maximises its use, preserves its legacy and positions the women’s side as a key part of the club’s future identity.
