Manor Solomon ‘to snub Leeds transfer and join Everton under one condition’

Manor Solomon is expected to favour a move to Leeds United over Everton, although the Toffees could do something to change that.

David Moyes will likely already be thinking about summer transfer plans.

The Scottish tactician has inspired a huge upturn in form at Goodison Park and will be excited about leading the Blues into Bramley-Moore Dock next season.

As well as potential player transfers, the Toffees are making moves off the field too, with Angus Kinnear in line to join Everton from Leeds.

And it looks as though Moyes’ side could be set to try and steal Solomon from the Whites’ grasp as well.

Everton want to sign Tottenham forward Solomon

As reported by GiveMeSport (23 February), Tottenham are preparing to sell Solomon in the summer transfer window. The winger is currently on loan with Leeds in the Championship, with the Whites keen to make his stay permanent.

Everton are also interested in the 25-year-old’s signature. However, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – thinks the Toffees would need to make a stronger financial offer to sign Solomon ahead of Leeds.

“Solomon would get more of a chance at Everton than back at Spurs,” King said.

“However, someone has got to go out and buy him. I think he will cost around 15million, but I do think he will want to stick with the club he has been successful with.

“If Leeds are going to get promoted, as it looks as though they are, they will get the money to bring in some signings. Solomon has proven he can do it already at Leeds. Therefore, the only thing that could sway him to go to Everton would be the money, I presume.”

Everton should try and sign Solomon ahead of Leeds

While things are looking up at Everton, it doesn’t mean they suddenly have plenty of cash to splash.

Therefore, signing Solomon could represent a sensible bit of business. The Israel international has done well in the Championship this season, and will no doubt be keen to prove himself in the Premier League after struggling to get a chance at Tottenham.

In addition, this is a player with Champions League experience who is available for just £15m, and addresses a priority area for Moyes. As a result, it looks like a no-brainer, and if Everton need to offer a bit more money than Leeds to get a deal across the line, that is exactly what they should do.
