Christian Norgaard transfer: Everton ready bargain offer already

Everton could seal a bargain transfer for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard, as a deal is being readied.

Idrissa Gueye is out of contract at Goodison Park at the end of this season, and whether the Toffees can keep hold of him remains to be seen.

Abdoulaye Doucoure is another midfielder David Moyes could lose next summer if the Blues can’t agree on fresh terms with the 32-year-old.

The Friedkin Group (TFG) will have some big decisions to make in the coming months and may already be planning for what’s to come next.

Everton ready to seal free Norgaard transfer

Norgaard is attracting interest from the Merseyside outfit, with the midfielder set to be a free agent next summer, according to TBR Football.

The news outlet reports (1 March) that the Toffees will push to sign the out-of-contract midfielder soon.

It has been claimed that the Blues are ready to make an offer for the Denmark international, with Brentford opening talks with the 30-year-old over a new deal.

The Bees are still in the race for a European spot, and Moyes got a draw against Thomas Frank’s team at the Gtech Community Stadium on 26 February.

Norgaard transfer to give Moyes boost

Moyes has changed the perception around Everton after replacing Sean Dyche in the Goodison Park dugout.

The Toffees are on a seven-game unbeaten run in the English top flight, which has seen them increase the gap with the relegation zone.

Going down to the Championship seemed a realistic prospect under Dyche, but the fans can be confident of witnessing Premier League football at Bramley Moore Dock in the upcoming campaign.

The Friedkins must ensure a proper recruitment structure is in place after Kevin Thewell departs Goodison Park next summer.

Before the end of the season, the Blues have to decide who they are going to keep, with several players out of contract.

Carlos Alcaraz was the only signing at the Merseyside outfit in the winter transfer window, and the Argentine national is already proving his worth.

James Garner has also played a prominent role at the Toffees since Moyes’ return, leaving the Blues’ midfield in safe hands even if Gueye and Doucoure leave.

Norgaard’s addition will be welcomed regardless, but whether it will happen remains to be seen.
