Everton ‘already make Carlos Alcaraz transfer decision’ ahead of summer window

Everton have made a decision over Carlos Alcaraz who arrived on an initial loan on the January transfer window deadline day.

Everton acquired the services of Alcaraz on loan from Flamengo with an obligation to buy if certain conditions were met.

The arrival of the Argentine midfielder boosted the squad depth, giving David Moyes an additional midfield option.

In a short span of time, Alcaraz has impressed the Everton faithful with his all-round performances. His splendid performances have prompted suggestions of the Toffees signing him permanently.

Carlos Alcaraz shines for Everton

The 22-year-old was the star of the show in Everton’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in February. Alcaraz brilliantly set up a goal for Beto before himself scoring the winner in the 80th minute, announcing his arrival in the Premier League.

Alcaraz has played in England before with Southampton but the majority of his playing time was in the Championship. He later secured a loan move to Juventus and then was signed in a club record deal by Flamengo in the summer of 2024.

Sadly, his Flamengo career did not go as envisioned and he returned to England in February. The Merseysiders have him on an initial loan deal but the loan will become permanent should certain appearance-based clauses be met.

If the Argentine midfielder starts six games or manages at least 45 minutes in games from now till the end of the season, the Toffees will have to sign him permanently. So far, Alcaraz has started two games and clocked 45 minutes on three different occasions.

According to Torcida Flamengo, Everton have sent a “clear message” to Flamengo regarding Alcaraz’s future. The Merseysiders are set to sign the midfielder regardless of the appearance clause being met or not.

While there is a belief that the former Southampton man will hit the appearance tally, Everton have sent a message to Flamengo.

The Brazilian club have “already received a clear message” that regardless of Alcaraz hitting the required appearances, Everton are prepared to sign him anyway “no matter what”.

The midfielder has heavily impressed Moyes and feels very comfortable in playing in the Scotsman’s system.

David Moyes rescues the Toffees from relegation?

Not long ago, the Toffees were lingering around the drop zone. Then manager Sean Dyche was struggling to conjure up something positive and the team was unable to generate positive results.

Then came Moyes, who has turned the Everton fortunes and pulled the Toffees from the grips of relegation.

Since his arrival, Everton have lost only once and have managed to earn 15 points out of a possible 24. The Toffees are now 15 points clear of the relegation zone and are in a comfortable position to finish well above the drop zone.

The managerial upheaval has also induced optimism in the team as a lot of players have improved massively under the former Manchester United boss. Everton faithful will have Moyes to thank for guiding Everton to safety in the final season at Goodison Park.
