Everton make shock Abdoulaye Doucoure contract decision
Abdoulaye Doucoure has been a key player for Everton since David Moyes took the reins at Goodison Park in January.
Make no mistake, Doucoure was a regular starter under Sean Dyche, making 18 appearances across all competitions under the Englishman.
However, the Mali international has sprung to life under Moyes as he has scored two goals and provided an assist in his last three Premier League appearances.
This is despite the 32-year-old failing to register a single goal or assist in the league before February this season.
With Doucoure in fine form, there is no doubt that he will continue to be an important player for Moyes between now and the end of the season.

Everton decide against triggering Doucoure contract clause
However, there are serious doubts about the midfielder’s long-term future at the Merseyside-based club as his current contract expires in June.
Everton will not trigger the option to keep Doucoure for another year, according to Bobble.
The insider reported via his person X account on 6 March that the Premier League have decided not to use the chance to extend Doucoure’s contract by another year.
Matches | Minutes | Goals | Assists | Yellow Cards | Red Cards |
26 | 2005′ | 3 | 1 | 2 | 1 |
Doucoure’s current contract with the Merseyside-based club runs out at the end of the season, meaning he will leave as a free agent as things stand.
It remains to be seen if there will be any changes to the situation between now and the end of the season.

Moyes to oversee midfield overhaul
Everton deciding against triggering a one-year extension in Doucoure’s contract does not mean that he will certainly leave the club this summer.
There is still a chance that the two parties discuss terms over a fresh contract that could see the Malian be a part of Moyes’ squad going into a new era at the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.
Nevertheless, Moyes could oversee a midfield overhaul at Everton ahead of next season, with Idrissa Gueye’s contract also expiring.
Orel Mangala is due to return to Lyon when his loan ends, meaning the Toffees will be short of another player in midfield
Everton fans will be hoping that The Friedkin Group make funds available for new transfers in what will be the club’s first summer transfer window under their ownership.
