Everton to cash in as Bramley-Moore Dock hosts landmark event – Exclusive

Everton are set to reap the rewards of the facilities at their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium imminently.

There are a lot of reasons to be excited as an Everton fan at the moment, with the planned move to the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium next season being only one of them.

For all the distress that Farhad Moshiri caused, he can take pride in the fact that he did most of the heavy lifting in realising the Toffees’ dream of building a new stadium.

Apart from providing the team with state-of-the-art facilities to ply their trade in, Everton’s new home is also poised to host several non-footballing events.

Bramley-Moore Dock to host Rugby League Ashes

It emerged as early as November that the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium is under consideration to host the Rugby League test between England and Australia this Autumn.

It is now all but confirmed that the new Everton stadium will be one of the venues when the world rugby heavyweights Australia tour the UK for the first time in 20 years for a three-match Ashes series.

This shows how the Blues are set to benefit from Bramley-Moore Dock apart from regular matchdays, according to Dan Plumley, who also suggested that the stadium is also being considered to host UEFA Euro 2028 games.

The football finance expert also pointed out how the ground’s local makes it a major attraction away from London.

“Absolutely, and that’s where we’re starting to see the benefits of this stadium already, and what it can do for the club, not just in terms of Everton Football Club playing there, but that kind of 365 days-a-year destination that the club are talking about”, Plumley exclusively told Goodison News.

This is a prime example of it. It’s a great opportunity to generate extra revenue; we know they’re already in the conversation around – it might even be confirmed – about Euro 2028 matches.

Everton set for cash windfall

So, the bigger picture here is for that to open out into other sports, other events, and the geographical positioning of it as well is important because we’ve talked about Spurs as the stadium in recent years, but obviously down in London and now you have an equivalent in the North West that is capable of hosting them kind of events.

All in all, really positive and something we expected to see for sure.”

Everton have already had a test event at the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium and are set to hold a bigger one with 25,000 spectators on Sunday, 23 March.

It is only a matter of time before almost 53,000 supporters flock to the stadium to see David Moyes’ men in action.

Meanwhile, the Toffees are set to receive a cash windfall from hosting the Ashes test later this year.
