TFG officially name new Everton chairman ahead of Goodison goodbye

The Friedkin Group completed their Everton takeover in December, and frontman Dan Friedkin is now set for a significant role on the club’s board.

The Toffees are approaching an exciting new era under The Friedkin Group ahead of their move from Goodison Park to their new stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock.

Another major change took place on Monday 24 March, when the Merseyside club welcomed Eric Williamson as a new director on their board.

Kevin Thelwell is due to leave his post as the director of football at the end of the campaign, while Angus Kinnear will become the Toffees’ new CEO this June.

Friedkin is set to become Everton chairman

The fact that Everton have just four games left to play at Goodison Park is indicative of just how much change is on the horizon for them.

As reported by The Bobble on X, Friedkin is set to become the Toffees chairman with Marc Watts continuing his current role as executive chairman after Friedkin has now officially been named as one of the club’s directors.

Everton supporters will hope to see their side enjoy a successful summer transfer window under the stewardship of their new board.

Better times could be on the horizon for Everton

Just last season the Toffees found themselves in a desperate scramble against relegation amid points deductions issued to the club courtesy of the financial mismanagement overseen by the previous ownership group.

Everton are enjoying an unbeaten streak

Earlier this campaign, Everton supporters would have also been fearful of the prospect of losing their Premier League status thanks to poor performances under the stewardship of ex-boss Sean Dyche.

But the return of David Moyes has majorly steadied the ship for the Merseyside giants who are now 17-points clear of the relegation zone, and set for another season of top-flight football next term.

Moyes has been a majorly positive influence on the footballing side of things at Goodison Park as his side have now enjoyed an unbeaten run of nine games in the Premier League.

Supporters will now be thankful that The Friedkin Group have seemingly got off-field matters moving in the right direction again too, while Friedkin’s new role as chairman could now epitomise that.
