Stuart Pearce blasts Iliman Ndiaye over Everton v Arsenal incident – ‘Ridiculous’

Iliman Ndiaye was guilty of putting Everton in trouble minutes before Arsenal took the lead at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Everton risk suffering two consecutive defeats for the first time in David Moyes’ second spell at Goodison Park as they trail 1-0 against Arsenal on 4 April.

Despite the Gunners dominating possession, the Toffees did a great job at keeping the visitors at bay for the first 30 minutes, only for Leandro Trossard to break the deadlock in the 34th minute.

The Merseyside-based club will be determined to put the home advantage to use in the second half and earn at least a point against the title contenders.

Stuart Pearce slams Ndiaye for putting Nathan Patterson in trouble

Everton have to avoid silly errors if they want to pull level and take at least two points off Arsenal this weekend.

Ndiaye was among those who were guilty of putting the Toffees under unnecessary pressure in the first half as a poor throw from him minutes before Trossard’s opener left Nathan Patterson in an awkward position.

Reacting to the incident live on air, Stuart Pearce described Ndiaye’s throw-in as the most “ridiculous” one he has ever seen and pointed out how Patterson was left with no choice but to boot the ball away.

“Ndiaye took a throw-in and it’s the most ridiculous throw-in I’ve seen”, Pearce said on talkSPORT (5 April, 1:00 pm).

“[James] Tarkowski, I think it was, was in a bit of trouble and had to deal with, sorry, Patterson, just had to loft it forward.”

Everton to push Arsenal to limits

There is no shame in not being able to take at least two points off Arsenal, as they are still competing with Liverpool for the Premier League title.

However, there is no reason why Everton cannot cause an upset over the North London giants, considering their form since Moyes’ arrival in January.

The Toffees have not lost at Goodison Park in the Premier League since their 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa on 15 January, which was Moyes’ first game back in charge.
