Everton already make last-minute changes at Bramley-Moore Dock after latest gaffe

Everton will be looking ahead to the end of the season with optimism ahead of a new era in Merseyside.

The Toffees have all but secured their safety in the Premier League this season, having improved their form significantly under David Moyes.

After the conclusion of the campaign, Everton are set to make the move to Bramley-Moore Dock as they prepare for life going forward under new ownership.

Bramley-Moore Dock late changes

Everton got back on track when it came to picking up points on Saturday (5 April) with an Iliman Ndiaye penalty enough to gain a point against Arsenal.

The 1-1 draw means the Toffees sit 15 points clear of the relegation zone, with mathematical safety edging even closer.

For many in Merseyside, they are probably eager for this campaign to end so they can prepare to look ahead to life under the Friedkin Group on new land.

TFG are expected to invest more money into the team, and with the new stadium also generating extra income, the Blues shouldn’t have to worry about PSR restrictions again anytime soon.

That being said, there is still work to be done to get Bramley-Moore Dock up to scratch for the start of the season, according to Mike Keegan.

Writing in the Daily Mail (7 April, page 59), Keegan reported that upon Sean Dyche’s departure from Goodison Park, it was discovered that the new stadium did not have a coaches’ room.

As a result, the Toffees were forced to carry out further “last-minute tweaks” to rectify the problem in preparation for the new campaign.

Admittedly, overlooking a coaches’ room in the plans was a naive move in preparation for a new stadium, but luckily it has already been rectified.

After a difficult number of seasons in Merseyside, supporters will be desperate to see their side pushing up the Premier League, rather than looking over their shoulder again.

There have been several test events at Bramley-Moore Dock already in preparation for the move and they have clearly paid off by highlighting such issues that will hopefully be rectified by the time the season arrives.

The Toffees will have to keep their ambitions modest to start with, as Moyes is expected to be overseeing a project rather than immediate amounts of investment.

However, if his tenure so far is anything to go by, it looks as though the Blues will be just fine.

That is, once his coaches’ room is up and ready to go.
