Everton injury news: Major Calvert-Lewin update emerges
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is not at a stage in his injury rehab that Everton expected him to be at this stage, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the England international is currently ruled out with a likely Grade 3 hamstring blow.
The 28-year-old has not played for the Toffees since the 1-0 win against Brighton on 25 January.

Calvert-Lewin appears to be ruled out for a few more weeks
Despite not being available for two-and-a-half months, the Everton number nine still has some way to go before he can make his first-team return.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Calvert-Lewin: “This sounds like a Grade 3 hamstring injury, but based on the comments from Moyes, it sounds like his rehab has been slower than anticipated.
Player | Appearances (2024/25) | Goals |
Calvert-Lewin | 22 | 3 |
Armando Broja | 10 | 0 |
Beto | 28 | 10 |
Youssef Chermiti | 2 | 0 |
“Difficult to say where he is in the rehab except that he isn’t where the club expected him to be.
“Subsequently, hard to tell when he might be close to 100 per cent but will require a consistent run of matches.
“He still appears to be ruled out for a few more weeks.“

Everton may not be handing a new deal to Calvert-Lewin
Calvert-Lewin’s injury absence means he’s unlikely to regain full fitness before the 2024-25 Premier League season concludes in May.
With only a few weeks left post-recovery, the striker will struggle to rebuild the match sharpness and consistency needed to prove his worth for a new contract as his current deal nears its end.
His injury-plagued season – scoring just three goals in 22 appearances – already raises doubts about his reliability, and limited game time reduces his chance to showcase the form that once made him Everton’s focal point.
Without a strong finish, the Toffees may hesitate to renew, leaving Calvert-Lewin’s future uncertain as he battles to demonstrate his value in a shortened timeframe.
