Moyes ‘takes major gamble’ as Everton XI confirmed v Nottingham Forest

Everton will be looking to get back to winning ways when they take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday.

The Toffees have been far tougher to beat since David Moyes replaced Sean Dyche, but they are currently six games without a win – drawing five of those.

Last week’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Goodison Park was a great result, but Moyes will know the narrative can quickly change if it becomes just one win in 10 matches in all competitions.

Facing high-flying Nottingham Forest at the City Ground is no easy task, though, and Moyes will know his side have a massive task on their hands.

Everton make three changes for Nottingham Forest match

Moyes had a couple of big decisions to make for the match at the City Ground, where a couple of players were pushing for a recall to the side.

Everton have confirmed their starting lineup on X (12 April) ahead of the match, with Moyes making three changes.

The big news is that Armando Broja is brought into the side for his first start since January, which is a gamble Moyes will hope does not backfire.

That sees Beto drop to the bench, while Vitalii Mykolenko is in for Nathan Patterson at left-back as expected and James Garner is preferred to Tim Iroegbunam.

The decision to go with Broja up top is a big one, with the Chelsea loanee having failed to score or assist in 14 appearances for the Toffees.

It really is now or never for Broja if he is to show what he is capable of, but many Everton fans will wonder if it is a wise choice starting him from the beginning against Forest.

Forest aiming for Champions League football

Forest were battling relegation from the Premier League alongside Everton this time last year, but 12 months on they look set to qualify for the Champions League.

Everton in the Premier League this season

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s men are third in the Premier League heading into Saturday’s fixtures, five points clear of Newcastle United in sixth place.

Forest were beaten 2-1 away at fellow top-five chasers Aston Villa last weekend, though, showing that they can be beaten.

A point would be a positive result at the City Ground for Everton, who are pretty much now just counting down the days until the season ends.
