David Moyes ‘to make Friedkin transfer demands’ after huge Everton developments

David Moyes has quickly become the hero at Everton once again since his return.

The Scotsman put the cherry on top of the cake with a huge 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with only two Premier League defeats since replacing Sean Dyche.

The Friedkins initially backed Dyche, but the Americans will be delighted by the impact of Moyes, validating their decision only weeks after completing their takeover.

Friedkins ready Everton transfer warchest

With Premier League football all but confirmed for next season at Bramley-Moore Dock, the Friedkins may already be facing calls for added investment in transfers.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News [12 April, 17:38], Kris Boyd shared what Moyes could be doing in the boardroom already ahead of next season.

“I think, obviously, speaking to Sue as well and the difference around the place,” he said.

“Jake O’Brien, one of the first things he did was put him in at right back, and he hadn’t been in the team. They’re solid, they are very hard to break down, as I said, Nottingham Forest struggled to get at them.

“You would imagine, if Everton can finish the season strong, he will be putting pressure on the owners to get new players in going into the new stadium.”

Friedkins to spearhead new Everton era

Moyes has been sensational and has completely transformed the Merseyside club again.

With injuries hitting him hard in midfield and the final third, the manager has also transformed individual players, with Beto the best example.

The striker could not hit a barn door under Dyche, but maybe wasn’t given enough of a chance, and he has now proved everyone wrong.

With his only defeats against Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Liverpool, that is sensational.

Moyes’ record in second Everton stint

Looking at what Nottingham Forest have done this season after hanging on by the skin of their teeth last campaign, that will be the goal at Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Friedkins will know that Moyes needs backing with new transfers, though, and a shortlist will surely be in place soon after the appointment of Angus Kinnear.

Everton will know even more about themselves soon with Manchester City and Chelsea next up, and positive results in those could secure a huge budget for Moyes over the summer.

That is all PSR-permitting, of course, with another Premier League sanction the last thing anyone wants around the blue half of Merseyside.
