Moyes reveals who he wants to sign after Everton win v Nottingham Forest

Everton are set for a busy summer as David Moyes heads up a huge rebuild.

The Toffees could lose up to 13 players as contracts and loan deals expire but there should be a flurry of incomings too as the financial shackles are taken off.

The Friedkin Group are set to back Moyes in the summer transfer market and the Scotsman is aiming for European qualification.

To achieve his target, the Blues will need to significantly upgrade in several positions despite their impressive run of form recently.

Moyes sets transfer plans for Everton after Forest win

Moyes is aiming to take Everton back to the higher echelons of the Premier League after years of misery in and around the relegation zone.

The Scotsman is planning an ambitious summer and gave an insight into his plans after the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest (12 April).

Speaking on Match of the Day (13 April, 22:46 pm), Moyes said: “We want to attract good players to the club in the future, we want them to realise that they are coming to a club that is ambitious.

“I’d love to have a season like Nottingham Forest are having this year next year if that is possible.

“So, we’ll do our best.”

Everton set to enter exciting era under Moyes

Moyes has already proved what he can do on Merseyside, having guided the Blues to European qualification several times in his first stint in the dugout.

He then won the Europa Conference League with West Ham in the 2022/23 season and will be keen to enjoy similar success with the Toffees, to end a nearly 30-year drought.

Everton have bounced back under Moyes.

However, it will not be easy and the Merseysiders need to nail their squad building in the summer if they are to have any chance of achieving the Scotsman’s ambitions.

It is all well and good dreaming of securing a European berth but actually fulfilling that dream will require a lot of things to fall in Everton’s favour as they make the move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Premier League is arguably at the most competitive level that it has ever been, with the likes of Forest, Fulham, Brighton and Bournemouth all contending for qualification this season.

However, the Blues’ results since Moyes has returned paint an encouraging picture, his side are a world away from the dross served up by Sean Dyche and it is a credit to the former Hammers boss that the club are thinking of competing towards the higher end of the table.
