Everton signed Armando Broja on loan from Chelsea until the end of the 2024/25 season.

The Albania international suffered injury issues at the start of the campaign but has since managed to make nine Premier League appearances.

The 23-year-old has yet to score or provide an assist in 268 minutes of league action.

Broja subject to interest from clubs in Germany, France, Italy and Spain

Chelsea believe that there is expected to be significant interest in Broja’s services this summer, according to The Athletic.

It’s understood that clubs in Germany, Italy, Spain and France are keen on signing the Albanian.

He’d also be open to a move away from the Premier League if the Toffees do not pursue a deal to secure his services permanently.

Given his injury issues, there is a feeling that a good home and proper pre-season campaign would help him put his fitness issues behind him.

He has until the end of the season to prove to the Everton hierarchy that he deserves to stay beyond the summer.

Everton must not pursue Broja’s services

Everton should avoid signing Broja due to his persistent reliability issues and lack of proven goal-scoring prowess, which fail to address their urgent need for a consistent striker.

Broja’s injury record, including a 2022/23 ACL tear and subsequent setbacks, raises concerns about his durability.

His modest tally of nine top-flight goals across spells at Chelsea, Southampton, and Fulham highlights his inability to deliver the clinical finishing Everton desperately require.

The Toffees need a striker who can guarantee at least 15 league goals a season to boost their survival hopes, but Broja’s unproven track record and inefficiency make him a risky investment.

Instead, the Merseyside outfit should target a proven, reliable goal scorer to provide the firepower needed to climb the Premier League table.
