Richarlison transfer: TFG ‘wasting funds at Everton’ after sensational update

Everton are on the rise under The Friedkin Group (TFG), but the Americans could potentially be making an error at Bramley-Moore Dock soon with Richarlison.

The Brazil international was sold to Tottenham for big money in the summer of 2022, but he has failed to live up to expectations in N17.

Fans would welcome Richarlison’s return to Goodison Park with open arms, as there’s an evident need to bolster their attack next summer.

The upcoming transfer window is going to be pivotal for TFG to showcase their support for David Moyes, but their eagerness to support the Scottish manager may lead them to a questionable decision.

Moyes needs new striker transfer at Everton

Nottingham Forest were beaten 1-0 at the City Ground by the Merseyside outfit on Saturday (12 April), taking the visitors above Manchester United and Tottenham in the Premier League.

Moyes has turned the tide at Goodison Park since replacing Sean Dyche, under whom the Toffees seemed destined for relegation.

While the Scotsman has managed to bring the best out of his attacking players in recent matches, Beto has been heavily relied upon.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s contract at the Blues expires at the end of the season, and he will leave as a free agent as things stand, making signing a new striker a seeming priority for TFG.

Tottenham transfer demand for Richarlison too much for TFG

Moyes will also be without Armando Broja at the end of the season, with the Albania international returning to Chelsea after his loan deal expires.

Youssef Chermiti is another centre-forward who’s struggled with fitness issues at the Toffees in the current campaign.

The Blues evidently struggled for a considerable period of this season due to the unreliability of most of their strikers.

Calvert-Lewin, Broja and Chermiti’s consistent injuries have been frustrating for Everton fans, and Richarlison seems to be of a similar mould, who the Merseysiders are thinking about making a £30million bid for, according to GiveMeSport.

The news outlet reports (14 April) that the Toffees want to push for the 27-year-old’s signing ahead of the upcoming transfer window as Moyes looks to reinforce his attacking options.

It’s been claimed that the Blues are examining a sensational move for the Brazil national and believe he can revive his career at Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Merseysiders could potentially be shooting themselves in the foot if they buy Richarlison, considering he’s missed 32 games at Tottenham this season due to consistent knocks.

With the 27-year-old’s injury woes at Spurs worsening every year, it wouldn’t make sense for the Toffees to spend a significant amount on him.

TFG may need to reinforce several positions next summer, and they can’t waste their funds on a centre-forward who’s hardly been available in recent months.

Calvert-Lewin and Broja should serve as an example for the Blues to be more diligent with their business going forward.
