Moyes disappointed after what’s happened at Everton’s new stadium

Everton are set to leave Goodison Park at the end of the season and begin life in their new state-of-the-art home at Bramley-Moore Dock.

David Moyes’ side have climbed up the table and away from the relegation zone, and will hope to progress further in their new ground.

Everton have just two games remaining at Goodison Park, but face some tough away tests in their final few fixtures of this season.

However, Moyes has now revealed that one request of his at the new ground could not be fulfilled, much to his frustration.

Everton cannot train on pitch at new stadium yet

Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock has already played host to a few test events, but it is still not ready for the players to try out the pitch.

Moyes has confirmed that he wanted his team to train on the new pitch in the coming weeks, but the development workers have “dug the pitch up.”

The Scot stated in his press conference on Friday (25 April) that he was “disappointed” that his side could not embrace the new facilities on offer for a training session ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea.

He also stated that it would have been “nice” for his team to train on the new pitch to get used to the stadium, as they prepare to move into their new home.

Moyes’ incredible impact at Everton

Moyes departed Everton in 2013 to join Manchester United, but he returned to Goodison Park 12 years later in their final season at the iconic ground.

He replaced Sean Dyche as manager, with Everton just one point clear of the relegation zone when Moyes returned.

Everton are now 17 points clear of the drop zone, and are above Man United and Tottenham in 13th place in the table.

The Toffees are performing better as a team and individually, with Beto transformed as an attacking option under Moyes, and there is now renewed hope as the team ushers in a new era at Bramley-Moore Dock.

The last few years have been disappointing as Everton flirted with relegation, but Moyes will aim to put those days behind the club and help them push further up the table.
