Beto blasted on talkSPORT for ‘awful’ moment in Everton loss v Chelsea
Beto left Stuart Pearce disappointed as Everton lost 1-0 to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.
Stamford Bridge hosted David Moyes’ team on 26 April as the hosts looked to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Enzo Maresca was watching from the sidelines after his touchline ban, and saw his team break the deadlock in the 27th minute through Nicolas Jackson.
Beto started for Moyes’ team against the West London outfit and didn’t have a great game, and he was seemingly at fault for giving them an opportunity to score.

Chelsea score first goal v Everton after Beto error up front
Beto’s hold-up play before Chelsea’s first goal against the Merseyside outfit was awful, Pearce says.
The ex-Nottingham Forest defender feels the Guinea-Bissau striker showed too much of the ball to Trevoh Chalobah, whose intervention started the West London club’s attack before they scored.

Pearce credited Jackson for his finish, but feels the Senegal international had too much space after the Toffees lost possession.
Speaking on talkSPORT (26 April, 12:59), the Englishman said: “Chelsea have eventually found a finish, and it was a decent one, but the room [Jackson] had.
“Everton have spread the play from the goalkeeper. Pickford’s slipped one into the centre circle to Beto, and he showed so much of the ball to Chalobah. You’re gambling and giving the ball away. Awful centre-forward play.”

Moyes will want new striker transfer at Bramley-Moore Dock
Moyes has had to rely on Beto since his return to the Toffees due to several fitness issues up front.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been unreliable at Goodison Park due to his consistent injuries, with Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti also struggling to stay fit.
The English striker’s current contract also expires at the end of the season, and a replacement will be needed if he were to depart.
Everton have been better in the attacking third since Moyes’ return, but they still have one of the worst goalscoring records in the Premier League in the current campaign.
The Toffees must buy a reliable number nine next summer, capable of getting at least 20 goals a season.
Broja will also return to Chelsea once his loan deal expires, and it wouldn’t make sense for the Merseysiders to trigger the buy option due to the Albanian’s unavailability at Goodison Park.
Chermiti has rarely been seen at the Toffees, making the addition of a new striker an evident priority for The Friedkin Group (TFG).
