Everton ‘have advantage over Arsenal’ as Rigg exit update shared at Sunderland
Everton appear to have an advantage on Arsenal and other Premier League rivals when it comes to signing Sunderland attacking midfielder Chris Rigg.
David Moyes is already preparing for the 2025/26 campaign after a solid half-season at Goodison Park.
The Scotsman’s return has seen the Toffees shoot up the table, with relegation fears quickly dwindling under his reign.
Now, Everton’s owners are prepared to back their manager this summer with numerous quality signings.
One such name linked is Rigg, with Everton now receiving a big boost in their pursuit of the Sunderland teenager.

Rigg wants regular football in Everton transfer boost
Everton’s pursuit of Rigg comes as no surprise. The 17-year-old is no doubt one of the best upcoming players in the country.
Rigg has been fundamental in Sunderland’s playoff push, which could end in a promotion to the Premier League.
Multiple clubs are after the 17-year-old after his series of impressive feats at such a young age.
However, with the likes of Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund also interested in the Sunderland man, a transfer to the Toffees might be seen as a big ask.

Yet, according to Graeme Bailey, Rigg’s desire for regular football may give Moyes’ side an advantage in the race.
He told Everton News (26 April): “There is hope for the likes of Everton with Chris Rigg as he will want a club where he can play regular football.
“It’s going to be interesting to see where he ends up. I wouldn’t rule Everton out of that but he does have his pick of clubs. Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal – I would not rule Everton out of it.”

Everton could be in line for a dream summer transfer window
If rumours are to be believed, the Toffees could be in line for a fantastic summer.
On top of the Rigg rumours, Everton have also been linked with Liam Delap, who has been sensational at Ipswich despite their relegation.
Everton are also believed to be winning the race for Tariq Lamptey, who would no doubt help to shore up their backline.
Dreams of European football now seem closer than ever as they prepare to move to the new Everton Stadium.
Now, all that is needed is for the Toffees to react and bring these quality players into the club before they are snatched up elsewhere.
