Jamie O’Hara loves the sound of transfer Everton are desperate to pull off
Everton could make an extraordinary transfer this summer, with Jamie O’Hara backing the potential signing.
With Everton having nothing to play for in their current campaign, all eyes are now on the summer transfer window.
David Moyes will no doubt want players in as the club prepares to move to the new Everton Stadium for the upcoming season.
Now, O’Hara has backed Everton to sign Ipswich’s Liam Delap, who could potentially be a transformative signing.

O’Hara believes Liam Delap is ’the right fit’ for Everton
The Toffees’ attacking number have been poor this season. Despite Beto’s purple patch under Moyes, the Merseyside club have only scored 34 goals this campaign, the least outside of the bottom three.
On top of this, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been linked away from Everton, with his contract set to expire this summer.
Therefore, a striker is clearly needed this summer, not only to help solve their issues up top, but to replace potential departures.
Everton’s top scorers this season | Goals |
Iliman Ndiaye | 7 |
Beto | 6 |
Abdoulaye Doucouré | 3 |
Dominic Calvert-Lewin | 3 |
Dwight McNeil | 3 |
Recently, Liam Delap has been linked to Everton after a sensational year at Ipswich Town.
Despite the Tractor Boys’ relegation, the 22-year-old has netted 12 Premier League goals so far this campaign.
Now, O’Hara has given his take on the potential transfer, believing it would be a good move for Everton.
He told Sky Sports News (27 April, 12:37pm): “Everyone wants a 20-goal-a-season striker, but they’re incredibly difficult to find. Do you go for a Delap? He’d be the right fit for Everton. But that’s not their main problem.”

Delap would transform Everton’s attack
If Delap is interested in Everton, the club must do everything in their power to get the transfer over the line.
The 22-year-old would transform the club’s attack and likely earn them 10-15 points across a campaign.
Getting back into Europe has to be Everton’s long-term aim, and Moyes is more than capable of achieving this.
However, a signing like Delap could make the Toffees challenge for Europe as early as next season given his clinical nature in front of goal.
Hopefully, the club can get the transfer over the line as soon as possible.
