Maresca lashes out at Chelsea staff members in Everton win as full details emerge

Everton were unable to return to winning ways against Chelsea on Saturday as David Moyes’ side were defeated 1-0.

With the Toffees having little to play for, many had hoped they would still secure a result against a struggling Chelsea side.

However, Nicolas Jackson’s sole goal condemned Everton to a third defeat in five matches.

Moyes was blasted for his treatment of one star in the loss at Stamford Bridge.

However, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca was also furious after one incident in the Blues’ victory.

Maresca unhappy with Chelsea substitution in victory over Everton

In the end, Moyes’ side were perhaps unlucky not to come away with at least a point.

The Toffees were piling plenty of pressure on Chelsea, and David Raya was forced to make a stunning stop to keep out Dwight McNeil late in the game.

Maresca also took notice of this late pressure, with the manager viewing the game from the stands as he served a one-match touchline ban.

In order to quell Everton’s momentum, Chelsea brought on Tyrique George, who has been in good form this past month.

However, according to the Liverpool Echo (27 April), Maresca was spotted fuming with his coaching staff due to how long it was taking to bring George on.

While it was unclear what he was shouting about, his gestures indicated that he wanted the substitute on quicker.

Everton must end their poor form quickly

With just four games now left of the season, Everton cannot finish their campaign with their current form.

Despite a good start from Moyes, the Toffees are now struggling to win matches, with just one victory in their last nine matches.

While they haven’t lost many games in this run, it has been less than impressive.

Everton will be expected to win their last two matches at Goodison Park

The club now faces their last two games at Goodison Park before Everton moves to their new stadium.

The last thing Moyes needs is for the club not to pick up a victory in either of these matches and have that stain on his record.

Thankfully, with relegated Ipswich up next, he has the perfect opportunity to earn the club another three points.
