David Moyes has met with ex-Everton chief who was hounded out of Goodison

David Moyes is determined to revitalise Everton on and off the pitch after returning as their manager in January.

One of the biggest decisions The Friedkin Group have made since buying Everton from Farhad Moshiri in December is replacing Sean Dyche with Moyes.

The Scottish tactician quickly quashed concerns about relegation, steering the Toffees away from the relegation zone and putting them in a comfortable position in 15th place.

Moyes is now determined to take Everton to greater heights, as they prepare for a big summer of change, including a move to the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

Moyes meets Graeme Sharp after Everton upset

It has now emerged that Moyes has met with Graeme Sharp months after details of plans to encircle him and other former Everton directors in 2023 came to light.

The Scot has seen Sharp in ‘recent weeks’, according to Ian Herbert of the Mail (29 April).

Sharp notably served as a non-executive board member for around a year during Moshiri‘s nightmarish reign over the Toffees.

However, the Goodison Park outfit’s struggles under the British-Iranian businessman meant that things quickly turned sour, with the Everton legend accused of easily siding with the status quo.

This led to Everton security officials identifying safety concerns over Sharp and other board members, thus prompting him to stay away from Goodison for months before stepping down from his role in June 2023.

He has since admitted that he was hurt by how things unfolded and does not plan to return to Goodison Park again.

Sharp could make Goodison Park return

It is sad that Sharp has not visited Goodison Park in almost two and a half years despite his stature as one of Everton’s legends.

While the Toffees’ board left much to be desired during Moshiri’s ownership, it did not make sense to hound a legend like Sharp out of Goodison.

With the Blues now set to bid adieu to Goodison Park, many will hope that Sharp can be in attendance once again.

It is possible that Moyes met the 64-year-old to convince him to return for Everton’s final game at Goodison Park against Southampton on 18 May.

Over 80 Toffees legends are expected to be in attendance for the game.
