Calvert-Lewin agent reaches out to Moyes in last-ditch Everton bid

Everton’s season is over after David Moyes returned to Goodison Park and secured Premier League promotion.

Moyes has done a remarkable job since his return to Merseyside but there is plenty of work to be done in the summer transfer window in preparation for further progress next season.

Everton have several players who are approaching the end of their contracts at the end of the campaign, one of which being Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

However, Moyes has plenty of decisions to make as PSR restrictions have to be kept in mind, despite The Friedkin Group having put the Toffees in a better position.

Calvert-Lewin looking to extend Everton stay

Upon Moyes’ return to Everton, Calvert-Lewin showed signs of being a player that was going to increase his levels under the new management, having had a disappointing season until then.

However, the striker was stuck by an injury at the end of January and has been out on the sidelines ever since.

This has put his future in doubt as the 28-year-old has not had the opportunity to prove himself to his new manager ahead of the summer transfer window and prove that he can still produce the required levels.

As the end of the season creeps closer, Moyes will be thinking hard about what’s to come, but it seems as though Calvert-Lewin is prepared to take his future into his own hands.

According to the i Paper (30 April), the striker’s representatives have made contract with Moyes in the hope of opening fresh talks surrounding his future.

This suggests that the forward is looking to extend his stay in Merseyside.

Calvert-Lewin could be fit enough to return to the Everton squad on Saturday (3 May) for their game against Ipswich Town which could provide a final opportunity to prove himself in Blue.

Moyes has to seek for better at Everton

With a final opportunity to prove himself, this is a situation that could certainly still change, especially if Calvert-Lewin can lift his standards under Moyes.

However, the boss will know how crucial it is to make additions at the top end of the pitch, given how poor Everton have been in front of goal this season.

Furthermore, the Scotsman has expressed his desire to reduce the age of the Everton squad as his side prepare for the move to Bramley-Moore Dock, with agility also being an important feature in the players he is looking for.

With that in mind, it does feel as though the ship may have sailed for the striker with the Toffees and both parties would benefit from seeking something new.
