Everton can land Jack Harrison upgrade with ex-Arsenal star wanted now

Everton have a lot of holes in their squad which need filling this summer, with several players potentially set to leave.

David Moyes will want to bring in his own players having steadied the ship after replacing Sean Dyche, but bargain opportunities may be sought out.

Everton will likely try to sign a winger this summer with several attackers potentially set to leave, and this is an area they would like to upgrade.

Loanee Jack Harrison has failed to impress at Goodison Park, but Everton could now secure themselves an upgrade on the Englishman.

Everton interested in Nicolas Pepe

Former Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe did not enjoy his best spell when in the Premier League, but Everton could now look to bring him back to England.

Pepe is currently plying his trade at La Liga side Villarreal, whom he joined last summer on a two-year deal after a year in Turkey.

It has now been reported by Foot Mercato that Wolves and Everton are keen on signing Pepe this summer, with Villarreal also wanting to extend his contract.

If Pepe does not extend his deal at Villarreal, then he could be available at a cut-price fee this summer, and Everton could take full advantage to replace Harrison.

Pepe coming into form ahead of potential Everton move

Pepe has endured a few difficult years since leaving Arsenal, but while he is regarded by many to be a big-money flop after a record transfer fee was spent on him, he did occasionally showcase his quality.

The Ivorian winger left Arsenal with 48 goal contributions to his name, including the winning assist in the 2020 FA Cup final.

Even this season at Villarreal, he initially struggled to get up to speed in terms of fitness, but has impressed in recent weeks, with an outstanding display at the weekend seeing him score and provide two assists against Osasuna.

Pepe would provide speed and more of a goal threat than Harrison on the right, and has also played as a striker at times this season.

The 29-year-old thrives when running into space, and he could be a perfect fit for Moyes if he is willing to return to England.

With Harrison not exactly hard to replace, he could be heading back to Leeds very shortly.
