Abdoulaye Doucoure offered multi-million contract in early Everton exit developments

Abdouaye Doucoure is approaching the end of his contract at Everton.

The Mali international has been a regular at Goodison Park since signing from Watford, even playing a key role under David Moyes this season.

This hasn’t stopped the contract situation surrounding the 32-year-old from rumbling on with just two Premier League games remaining.

Looking ahead to the summer, a contract update has already emerged for the Toffees as Doucoure considers his options for his future.

Doucoure tabled fresh contract ahead of summer

It does look set to be a busy transfer window for the Scottish head coach in L4 as a number of key players come to the end of their current deals.

Idrissa Gueye is one of those who is also out of contract with himself, and Doucoure is potentially set to face a similar fate at Goodison.

The former Granada midfielder has been a useful asset as a box-to-box midfielder under Moyes, most recently netting a late winner against Nottingham Forest.

In reaction to this strike, the Malian celebrated by mimicking signing a contract with an offer now emerging with just weeks remaining in the season.

This hasn’t yet come from the Toffees, however, as Santi Aouna has reported (12 May) that Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab have tabled a contract proposal to Doucoure.

The Pro League side are said to have offered wages in the region of £3million per year ahead of a free contract move away from Merseyside.

Doucoure edges towards Everton exit

Given that the Toffees are yet to table an offer to the ex-Watford man, it does feel as if he is up for grabs in the upcoming window.

This comes as the Friedkin Group look set to take charge of their first summer in charge of the L4 club ahead of the Bramley-Moore Dock move.

As a result, the free contract departures of the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Gueye and now Doucoure are growing in likelihood.

This could also greenlight a potential move for Tomas Soucek to move to Goodison as Moyes eyes a reunion with the West Ham ace.
