Carlos Alcaraz sticking point emerges after Everton clause update

Everton yet to agree contract length with Alcaraz
Since arriving on loan, Alcaraz’s quality has been on show week in, week out, and it comes as little surprise that the Toffees wanted to keep him permanently.
Fabrizio Romano previously broke the news that Everton triggered their £15.1million buy option in his contract, which includes add-ons and clauses, though the deal isn’t done yet.

That is because, according to a report from Andre Hernan, the Toffees are still deliberating over whether to offer the midfielder a three or four-year deal.
The delay is unlikely to cause any severe complications for the deal to get finalised, though until both parties agree on the length of the contract, it is one that will hang in the balance for the time being.
Everton need to recruit smartly this summer
Everton are a huge club, but for too many years now, they have failed to take advnatage of their stature when it comes to recruiting players.
If the Toffees are to kick on under Moyes, that needs to change this summer, and recruitment needs to improve massively if they are to start pushing up the Premier League table.
With a new deal set to be signed for Idrissa Gueye, Everton have one less thing to worry about, though the need for a fresh injection of quality is clear across every area of the squad, and they will be afforded no margin for error in their attempts to acquire that.
