Everton given ‘green signal’ as £17m bid ready for Ngal’ayel Mukau

Everton are reportedly eyeing a move for LOSC Lille star Ngal’ayel Mukau this summer.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the ankle issues suffered by the midfielder last season ahead of a potential transfer.

David Moyes wants Everton to reinforce their midfield as they move into a new stadium from the 2025/26 campaign.

Mukau to clear medical despite ankle injury

Despite the 20-year-old’s ankle injury at the start of last season, he is expected to clear his medical, according to Dr Brar.

Everton are already readying a £17million bid for Mukau as they want to bring him to Merseyside in the coming weeks. (Africa Foot, 24 May)

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Mukau: “He did have an ankle concern at the start of the season, but did not suffer any setbacks after it.

While his game time was erratic, I do not see him facing any issues with his medical.

The adaptation might be the challenge as it’s a new country, new surroundings, potentially a new language, new teammates, and potentially uprooting your family.

Everton must prioritise alternatives to Mukau

Everton’s potential signing of Mukau is a promising move due to his high potential, showcased by his technical ability and versatility in Ligue 1.

However, his limited senior experience suggests he’s unlikely to immediately strengthen the Toffees’ first team, which needs proven performers to avoid another relegation scrap.

Mukau’s development would benefit from regular minutes, likely in a rotational role or loan spell.

To address immediate defensive and attacking frailties, Everton must pursue established alternatives to ensure Premier League survival while nurturing Mukau’s long-term potential.

It remains to be seen if they prioritise signing the DR Congo international all summer.
