Everton news round-up: ‘Grealish deal to be done’ as £9m transfer on the cards
Everton’s summer transfer window now appears to be gathering pace after a fairly slow start.
The Toffees’ only incoming so far has been the permanent acquisition of Charly Alcaraz following his impressive loan spell, but it certainly won’t be the last addition if David Moyes is to get his wish.
The Friedkin Group are expected to lavish Moyes with a sizeable transfer budget ahead of next season, as the Scotsman looks to continue the positive work that took place in the second half of the recent campaign.
Here, Goodison News rounds up all the latest news coming out of Everton, as the club continues to work towards securing further signings.

Everton learn Gudmundsson fate as Fiorentina agree deal
Everton have been lining up a move for Albert Gudmundsson in recent weeks, and had previously held high hopes of bringing the frontman to Merseyside.
The 28-year-old spent last season out on loan at Fiorentina, but recently raised suspicions of a move to Everton by outlining his desire to play in the Premier League.
However, Everton have now likely learned the fate of their pursuit of Gudmundsson, with Fiorentina having now reached a verbal agreement with Genoa, according to Sky Sports journalist Luca Cilli (24 June).
La Viola have settled on an £11million fee with Genoa, and look set to turn their loan of Gudmundsson into a permanent deal.
Everton eye £9m Wilfred Ndidi deal
Everton have revitalised one of their transfer pursuits from 2024, and are chasing Wilfred Ndidi once again.
The Nigerian international looked set to leave Leicester as a free agent last summer, but ultimately put a halt to the Merseysiders’ interest by tying him down to a new deal.
That contract had a £9m relegation release clause as part of its terms, and Everton are now understood to be keen to activate that clause this summer, according to talkSPORT (24 June).
Moyes’ side look set to face competition from Manchester United for the experienced midfielder, who is also thought to be on the radar of clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Grealish ‘deal to be done’ if Man City help with wages
Jack Grealish’s Manchester City future is firmly up in the air ahead of next season. The England star has fallen badly out of favour with Pep Guardiola, and Everton are one of several sides who are keen to offer him a way out of the Etihad Stadium.
The BBC’s chief football writer Phil McNulty believes that Everton know there’s a deal to be done for Grealish this summer.
He wrote on Tuesday (24 June), that Everton are interested in a deal for the 29-year-old, but they would need City to shoulder some of the burden where his wages are concerned.
“Everton, like many other clubs, will be aware that there is a deal to be done for Grealish,” McNulty wrote.
“But this would be a very rich deal for Everton to do — and would certainly require Man City picking up a large share of his salary.
“I think you can categorise this as being a long shot, but if the clock runs down towards the window closing and Grealish has not found himself a new club, then I can certainly see Everton at least trying to find out the lay of the land.”
