‘Everton seal massive coup’ to kickstart life at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Everton hadn’t enjoyed the most exciting start to the summer transfer window.

Every day, fans have been subjected to headlines speculating who would and wouldn’t be staying at the club, and they’ve lost some players they may have preferred to keep.

However, the Toffees have now released some news that will unite the fanbase in delight.

Jarrad Branthwaite signs new contract to stay at Everton until 2030

There had been a lot of speculation about Jarrad Branthwaite potentially leaving Everton this summer.

Branthwaite has emerged as one of England’s top centre-backs, and several Premier League clubs were reported to be preparing bids for him.

Losing Branthwaite would have been a hammer blow to Everton fans, who are supposed to be getting excited about watching their team in a brand new stadium.

However, the 23-year-old has delighted the blue half of Merseyside by signing a new contract that ties him to Everton until 2030.

Branthwaite can now look forward to representing Everton at the Hill Dickinson stadium this season, and hopefully for many more seasons in the future.

Branthwaite deal is a huge coup for Everton

Everton fans must have been sick to death of reports suggesting that Branthwaite would leave Everton for a ‘bigger club’.

Spurs were supposedly interested. Manchester United were sniffing around. They bid £45million for him last summer. Nowhere near his value in today’s market.

This contract signing feels like a reminder to the Premier League that Everton are a big club as well.

The Toffees haven’t been troubling the upper echelons of the league table since Branthwaite emerged from their youth set-up, but David Moyes has got his side moving in the right direction again.

Branthwaite has praised Moyes’ impact on the team and mentioned the manager’s ambition as a key reason for him signing a new deal.

Now, with the England international marshalling the defence for the coming years, Everton has the foundation to grow even further.

There’s more work for Moyes to do in this transfer window, but this coup will hopefully serve as a catalyst for more exciting deals this summer.

Everyone involved in getting this deal done deserves a huge pat on the back.
