Everton ‘set to make move’ as Omari Hutchinson exit on cards

Omari Hutchinson has been linked with a move to Everton following Ipswich Town’s relegation from the Premier League.

The Tractor Boys secured an unlikely promotion in the 2023/24 season, but went back down after 12 months.

Given their second-tier status, they may find it hard to resist top-flight clubs from making a move for their key assets.

Everton are keen on signing Hutchinson and are confident that he would leave if they come calling.

They are considering entering negotiations for the Jamaica international as he is among the priority targets this summer.

Thierno Barry is set to leave Villarreal as he’s already completed his medical on Merseyside and Hutchinson could follow him through the door.

Everton must not make Hutchinson a transfer priority

Hutchinson is a promising long-term prospect for Everton, but the club need more established wingers to strengthen their starting XI and secure a top-half Premier League finish in the 2025/26 season.

His record of 14 goals and eight assists in 82 appearances for Ipswich, plus strong youth performances at Chelsea and Arsenal, highlights his potential.

His pace, flair and versatility suit David Moyes‘ direct system, but his limited senior top-flight experience suggests he’s not yet ready to lead the Toffees’ attack consistently.

The current options out wide lack the cutting edge needed for a top-10 push and quality is needed in those positions.

To compete with mid-table rivals like Bournemouth or Brighton, Everton should target proven wingers whose goal-scoring and creative output would provide immediate impact, complementing Hutchinson’s development as a future star.
