Everton table shock bid as Marco Asensio to undergo medical in hours
David Moyes has made no secret that he wants to upgrade Everton’s attack this summer.
The Toffees recently confirmed the signing of Thierno Barry, who joined the Merseyside club from Villarreal.
However, the Scotsman has no plans of stopping here, with multiple other names linked.
Now, reports have emerged that claim Everton have made an attempt to sign PSG’s Marco Asensio.

Everton bid for Marco Asensio
Marco Asensio was in the Premier League last season as he spent the latter half of the campaign on loan to Aston Villa.
Here, the 29-year-old enjoyed relative success as he netted eight times in 21 appearances in all competitions.
However, he soon returned to PSG this summer, with speculation once again increasing about the attacker’s future.
Now, Sabah, print edition (13 July), has confirmed that Everton did make an offer for the Spaniard.
Asensio was wanted by multiple teams this summer, with Milan, Sevilla and Marseille also submitting bids.
The 29-year-old was keen to leave PSG as he aims to become one of Spain’s biggest stars ahead of the World Cup, something that isn’t doable as a rotation option.
However, the winger is now set to join Turkish side Fenerbahce, with the Asensio expected to arrive in Istanbul soon to undergo medical checks and then sign an official contract.

Moyes missed a trick by not signing Asensio
Now that it seems all but certain that Asensio will join Fenerbahce, it is no doubt a missed opportunity for Everton.
The Spaniard would have likely been a key player at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season and could have built on his last Premier League campaign.

However, Moyes must now quickly move on to other targets if he is to fix the Toffees’ attacking woes.
A new winger is a must, and the Merseyside club cannot afford to ponder their options.
Hopefully, further bids will be made in the coming weeks to ensure that a new attacker is brought in before the start of the Premier League season.
