Richard Rios drops goodbye hint amid £25.9m Everton transfer development
Everton have emerged as a potential candidate to sign Richard Rios this summer.
The Palmeiras midfielder caught the eye at the recent Club World Cup, and it now seems as though a move to Europe could be on the cards for him imminently.
Everton were linked with Rios back in January, but failed to get a deal for the Colombian international over the line.
David Moyes is keen to add fresh faces as he bids to take the Toffees to the next level this term, and Rios could prove to be the next man to join the ranks at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton could sign Rios for £25.9m
Everton are not alone in their recent interest in Rios, with both Inter Milan and Roma having enquired about him over the last few weeks.
A fairly hefty fee has been mooted as a possibility for the 25-year-old, but the Toffees have now learned exactly how much it will take for them to land him this summer.
Palmeiras are holding out for a fee of £25.9m for Rios, according to the print edition of Record (18 July, pg. 3).
Everton join Wolves and Nottingham Forest as part of the contingent of clubs who are interested in bringing the Colombian to the Premier League, but it is understood that the player himself is keen on a move to Benfica at the moment.
The Portuguese giants currently want a deal starting at £21.6m, but Palmeiras are unmoved in their demands.
Rios has added a cryptic element to the situation by posting a story on Instagram, which could be a goodbye message. The story featured the same song that he used in a 2023 post when saying goodbye to Guarani ahead of his move to Palmeiras.

Rios would be a strong signing for Everton
Everton need to add to their midfield following Abdoulaye Doucoure’s departure, and Rios could be a perfect option to step in.
He is a well-rounded and energetic midfielder, who is capable of the kind of all-action, impactful displays that Moyes likes in the middle of the park.

The chance of the Toffees being able to land the midfielder has seemingly grown in recent days, and with Palmeiras’ demands now abundantly clear, it is down to The Friedkin Group to get the deal over the line.
There is plenty of competition for Rios, but the Merseysiders could force their way to the front of the queue by making a move in quick and effective fashion.
