Everton news round-up: ‘Moyes to sign Ramsey’ amid McAtee update

Everton’s business looks set to ramp up in the next few weeks.

The Friedkin Group are set to back David Moyes to overhaul his squad in the transfer market after a positive end to the campaign.

So far, they have brought in Carlos Alcaraz and Thierno Barry, but much more is needed if they are to push up the Premier League table next season.

Here, Goodison News rounds up the latest Blues updates from 21 July.

Everton to be patient amid Friedkin panic

It has been suggested that Moyes is concerned with the lack of transfers so far under the Friedkin Group.

However, iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that the Blues must be patient and should trust the ownership to get it right.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he insisted that there is no friction between the manager and the owners, saying: I wouldn’t have thought we are at that stage of the close season just yet, nobody should be panicking.

“I would have thought you are going to see a lot of late deals, up against the deadline. The reason for that, generally speaking, is that the price comes down; clubs who want to get rid of players make it a little easier to get the deal done.

“Ideally, you would (want signings in for the tour), but in reality, it never quite works out in that ideal way, does it?”

Luiz intentions clear amid Everton interest

Everton are interested in former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, but they may miss out on the Brazilian after new developments.

A report from Matteo Moretto (20 July) claims that the Juventus man has put a move to Merseyside on hold and is waiting to see if other opportunities arise.

It states that West Ham and Nottingham Forest are amongst the teams that are also interested in the 27-year-old.

Everton to land Ramsey amid Villa latest

Everton could land Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey ahead of the likes of Nottingham Forest and West Ham.

Former Goodison scout Bryan King believes that the Hill Dickinson Stadium could be the defining factor in sealing a deal.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: “All three clubs are in similar positions, apart from what Forest did last year.

“I think Everton are now going to be a club that you can throw in the hat with teams of this nature, because the big thing is the new stadium. That could be a draw for any player.

“The training facilities at Finch Farm are first class as well, so anybody joining Everton is joining a very well-structured club.”

Everton handed McAtee blow amid transfer latest

Everton look set to miss out on Manchester City star James McAtee after the latest update on his future.

A report from the Telegraph (21 July) claims that the Citizens have placed a £35million valuation on the attacking midfielder.

That is a marked increase on the £25m that it was believed he would be available for and could hand the advantage to the Blues’ rivals for his signature, such as Forest and the Hammers.
