Everton in advanced talks to sign Fofana as medical booked for another transfer

Everton have been searching for wide attackers in the summer transfer window, and have now found the ideal target.

David Moyes needs to strengthen his options in attacking areas, and after calling out for signings throughout the summer, things are now moving quickly.

Everton are now in advanced talks to sign Lyon star Malick Fofana, in a move which could be seen as a coup.

The 20-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s brightest talents and could be set to follow another player into the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton in talks for Fofana after Adam Aznou deal agreed

After weeks of frustrating inactivity in the transfer market, Everton are now closing in on two signings, with a deal also agreed to sign Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich.

Aznou will arrive as a young left-back to compete with Vitaliy Mykolenko, and could end up linking with Fofana on that side of the pitch.

Fofana is a versatile attacker who typically plays on the left wing for Lyon, and he was outstanding last season as he provided 17 goals and assists in 41 games across all competitions.

The winger recently made his debut for the senior Belgium side, and Moyes could now create a dynamic left side with Fofana as the star of the show.

Aznou’s medical at Everton will take place in the next 48 hours, and Fofana’s could follow soon if an agreement is quickly reached following these talks, as reported by Fabrizio Romano (26 July).

Everton are finally active in the transfer market

Thierno Barry is the only confirmed high-profile new signing in the window so far, leading to frustration for both Moyes and the fanbase, but things are finally moving.

Within the next few days, Everton could have an entirely new left side, with Aznou an attacking left-back, and Fofana a speedy left-winger.

The creativity and goal threat which could come from both young players is mouthwatering, but Everton cannot stop their recruitment there.

A lot of positions need extra quality or depth, but it is clear that The Friedkin Group are targeting high-potential young stars who can also appear regularly from the get-go next season.
