How West Ham United could line up v Everton – Paqueta to return

West Ham and Everton are both looking to bounce back from defeat as they face off on Wednesday.

The two sides will face each other in the Premier League Summer Series in Chicago (30 July) after dismal defeats last time out.

The Hammers were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United while the Blues were hammered 3-0 by Bournemouth, leading David Moyes to call for more signings.

He will be keen to get one over on his former club and gather momentum ahead of the new season.

Potter to make three West Ham changes v Everton

Alphonse Areola is expected to keep his place between the sticks as the Irons have not signed a goalkeeper to replace him.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is predicted to retain his right-back berth despite the East Londoners signing Everton target Kyle Walker-Peters.

Nayef Aguerd started at left back against the Red Devils, but Ollie Scarles is expected to get the nod on this occasion.

At the heart of defence, Potter is expected to stick with the partnership of Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo.

James Ward-Prowse might keep his place in the line-up against the Blues, while Andy Irving is predicted to replace Guido Rodriguez.

Lucas Paqueta is predicted to start in the number 10 role after missing the clash with Ruben Amorim’s side.

Jarrod Bowen is expected to feature on the right-hand side, while El Hadji Malick Diouf, a compatriot of Toffees star Idrissa Gueye, might start from the left flank.

Niclas Fullkrug is predicted to lead the line, as he is the only orthodox striker available to Graham Potter right now.

West Ham desperate to beat Everton

Potter needs his side to pick up a victory against the Hill Dickinson Stadium outfit.

The Irons finished one place and five points below Moyes’ team last time out, and they must show progress and get one over on their former boss.

Just like Everton, there is still plenty of work to be done in the transfer market, and if the E20 outfit does not get enough business done, it may be a very tough campaign.

If they can defeat the Merseysiders, it will be a good sign that they are on the right track and the squad is up to speed with how the former Brighton man wants them to play.

If not, it may be time for panic stations, something Everton would take as a huge advantage.
