Everton ‘get one over on Bayern Munich’ as Christoph Freund speaks out on done deal
David Moyes has had a lot to complain about this summer.
The Everton boss had previously admitted he was “desperate” for new signings, as several transfer targets slipped through his fingers.
Moyes also criticised existing players like Beto and James Garner for their performances in pre-season friendlies.
However, a story is now emerging about a rare win for Moyes and Everton in this transfer window.

Everton pull off Adam Aznou transfer coup
The signing of Adam Aznou for Everton is one that’s particularly exciting for Moyes.
The 19-year-old signed a four-year contract at Everton after agreeing to move from Bayern Munich for an undisclosed fee.
On the surface, it might look like a normal punt on an up-and-coming youngster from overseas.
However, Aznou was not only highly rated at Barcelona after progressing through their famous La Masia academy. He also had a big future marked out for him in Munich.
In an interview with Sport1.de, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund admits that the club weren’t so keen on selling Aznou.
He said: “We also had a plan for him. He’s also been on loan for the past six months. But all parties are involved. The player also has to go along with it or be convinced of our plans as a club. We didn’t quite agree.
“It was his great wish to make this transfer. Of course, it wasn’t fundamentally our plan, but at the end of the day, we all decided together that, given the current situation, it’s probably the best thing for everyone involved.”

Everton fans will be delighted to hear that Aznou chose their team instead of remaining with one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Stories like these will immediately endear you to the fans.
However, the hard work starts now if the teenager is to adapt to playing in the Premier League.
Everton could still do with some extra firepower before transfer window closes
Everton were still on their United States tour when Moyes revealed his “desperation” for new signings.
It’s gone a bit better for him in the transfer market since then.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has signed from Chelsea, while the Toffees have also won the race to land Jack Grealish on a season-long loan.
These two will undoubtedly help to make Moyes’ side more creative on the ball, but they could still do with another striker to put the chances away.
| Player | Goals |
| Iliman Ndiaye | 9 |
| Beto | 8 |
| Dwight McNeil | 4 |
Thierno Barry has signed from Villarreal, but there’s no guarantee that he’ll adapt to the pace of the Premier League. Apart from him, the only out-and-out strikers available are Beto and Youssef Chermiti.
If they could target a striker who is proven in the Premier League, Everton could be in a great position to target a top-half finish or even better.
