Reuben Gokah seals Everton transfer

Everton were keen on signing Reuben Gokah and have finally secured his services.

The Toffees announced the signing on 15 August as the 16-year-old finalised his Charlton exit.

Gokah has already represented England at both Under-15 and Under-16 levels, but has yet to make his senior debut.

The teenage defender has signed a long-term deal at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, as he will now aim to climb up the ranks and potentially make his senior debut.

Moyes will be pleased with the Gokah transfer

Gokah brings immense potential to Everton’s youth teams, bolstering their defensive ranks with his commanding presence and technical ability.

As an England youth international, his experience in Charlton’s academy and his role in their Premier League Professional Development League Cup win highlight his readiness for Everton’s Under-18s.

His ball-playing skills and physicality align with modern defensive demands, offering a strong foundation for Finch Farm’s youth setup.

Gokah’s signing reflects Everton’s renewed focus on youth development under the Friedkin Group, aiming to create a pipeline to the first team, as seen with Branthwaite.

Moyes, known for nurturing talents like Wayne Rooney and James Vaughan, will be delighted with the defender’s arrival due to his reputation for giving young players opportunities.

His experience in Scottish football may also inform his enthusiasm for tapping into similar markets, seeing Gokah as a long-term asset with the potential to one day become Premier League-ready.
