Gary Lineker has said Everton are signing ‘incredible talent’ as terms all but finalised

Everton fans are excited enough about the upcoming weekend of football as they get to see their team kick a ball in anger at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time.

Add to that a new signing, and then Evertonians are really going to enjoy their August Bank Holiday.

David Moyes will take charge of Everton’s first match at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday when they take on Brighton in the Premier League.

Farhad Moshiri’s dream of building a new, state-of-the-art stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock will finally be realised. And while he’s no longer Everton’s owner, it’s the current top brass The Friedkin Group who are making waves in the transfer market.

Everton strike verbal agreement with Southampton for Tyler Dibling

Everton are closing in on a deal to sign Southampton and England Under-21s forward Tyler Dibling.

David Ornstein reported on Friday evening that Dibling is set for a medical with Everton next week as long as there’s no unexpected breakdown in agreements.

It’s claimed that the former Chelsea youth player has agreed personal terms to move to Merseyside, with the Toffees and the Saints verbally agreeing on a £42million deal, plus add-ons.

Dibling’s stock is certainly on the rise.

Even though Southampton were relegated from the Premier League last season, the Exeter-born teenager was described as an “incredible talent” by Goodison Park legend Gary Lineker on The Rest Is Football podcast in April.

When speaking to Lineker, ex-Southampton manager Russell Martin said: “He’s the most talented player I’ve ever seen.”

Sean Dyche also piles praise on Everton’s new signing Tyler Dibling

Former Everton manager Sean Dyche is also a big fan of Dibling.

He told talkSPORT earlier this month: “It’s been an indifferent period for transfers [for Everton]. They haven’t got depth at the minute.

“There is talk of the boy Dibling from Southampton, who I thought was a very good player. Maybe they can get one across the line but we’ll have to wait and see.

“It looks like they are signing players who can grow into the club but from Moyes’ point of view, he wants players who can do it now like all managers do.”

Dibling will become Everton’s sixth new signing this summer – if all goes well.

Dibling is now all set to join Everton.

That game against Brighton on Sunday is a huge one in Everton’s history as they begin a new chapter away from Goodison Park.

Dibling, unfortunately, won’t get to be a part of that momentous occasion with this week’s Premier League matchday now underway.

However, there’s every chance we’ll get to see a new boy in blue before the September international break.
