Alan Myers moots two new transfers at Everton after Tyler Dibling agreement
Everton can’t put their foot off the gas after signing Tyler Dibling from Southampton this transfer window.
While Everton beat Brighton 2-0 in the Premier League on 24 August, the lack of depth in their squad was evident as James Garner played at left-back.
Carlos Alcaraz and Tim Iroegbunam also seemingly left the Hill Dickinson Stadium with slight knocks, which could further deplete the strength in the Blues’ squad.
David Moyes may have Dibling at his disposal soon once his medical is complete, but the Scottish manager should be demanding further investment in the team from the American owners.

Everton need to sign new right-back and midfielder for David Moyes
Nick Hammond, who leads the Toffees’ player trading activity, may be busy before 1 September.
While most areas of the pitch seem to have enough options, Alan Myers feels The Friedkin Group (TFG) should bolster the right-hand side of the defence and the midfield in L5.
Jake O’Brien has consistently played out of position under Moyes, while Idrissa Gueye and Iroegbunam may need more support in the engine room.
Myers wrote in Everton.News on 25 August: “However, it’s the defensive and midfield areas which Everton fans and Moyes will hope are strengthened before the window shuts on 1 September.
“A right-back has been a requirement for some time now, and there is some thought that a defensive midfielder is needed to help Gueye and Iroegbunam, who both gave positive performances against Brighton.”

Tomas Soucek could reunite with David Moyes at Everton
Moyes wants to work with Tomas Soucek again, but the Toffees have seen their initial bid rejected by West Ham United.
The Scottish manager and Czechia international spent around four years together at the London Stadium, winning the UEFA Conference League title in the 2022/23 season.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see the 30-year-old jump ship in the coming days, considering the predicament the Hammers find themselves in after losing their opening two league matches.
- Soucek is a three-time Czech Republic Player of the Year winner.
- The midfielder scored nine Premier League goals last season.
- The West Ham star can provide competition to Gueye and Iroegbunam.
Everton will hope Moyes can drag them into a European position at the end of the current campaign, something Soucek could certainly help achieve.
The Czech Republic national is a crashing box-to-box midfielder, capable of contributing goals when needed most due to his size and physical stature.
Apart from the midfielder, right-back is undoubtedly one area the Merseysiders should prioritise a quality addition for, with Nathan Patterson seemingly on his way to Sevilla.
