Everton backed to seal £30m Gabriel Jesus transfer with Arsenal star thought to be keen on move

Gabriel Jesus’ Premier League career has taken a turn for the worse in recent years.

The former Manchester City and Premier League champion moved to the Gunners in 2022 in hopes of becoming their star striker.

However, after years of struggling in front of goal, Arsenal opted to sign Viktor Gyokeres in the summer, with the Brazilian’s game time now likely to be severely limited.

As a result, Everton are thought to be interested in Jesus, and now they have been backed to seal the deal.

Bryan King: Everton move will appeal to Gabriel Jesus

For years, Everton have struggled to find a striker that will consistently score goals.

It was thought that Thierno Barry would end this curse for Everton this season. However, the attacker is yet to find the back of the net in Merseyside.

On top of this, Beto has continued to be poor for Everton, which has caused further problems.

As a result, a new striker may be needed, and Bryan King has exclusively told Goodison News that Everton could seal a deal for Jesus.

“I would say he would cost anywhere between £25m and £30m,” King said.

“I think he could be quite exciting to play up front with Beto. I think they could be an interesting pairing.

“It’s whether they can bring him in. I don’t think players coming from Arsenal are necessarily on massive money, and that would be an interesting signing for Everton.

“It would appeal to him if it meant he could play every week. And he’s certainly not a bad player.

“I think personally, if there’s a chance to bring him in and Everton have got the money, then he’d be a very good signing.”

Gabriel Jesus signing would be a massive gamble

While David Moyes should look at proven strikers to solve his attacking issues, the addition of Jesus would be a massive gamble.

The Brazilian international has only netted 15 times in all competitions across his last two seasons, despite playing for one of the best teams in the country.

Therefore, in Everton’s squad, he is unlikely to improve these numbers and could become another massive flop.

Realistically, Moyes needs to target a striker who is on form, who can quickly hit the ground running at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
