Everton star sends one-word message to Tottenham’s Mathys Tel after goal vs Leeds
Everton will be hoping for a similar result to Tottenham when they take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
A recent draw to West Ham for David Moyes’ side will mean that the Toffees will look to put on an improved performance against Palace at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Moyes has been told which area to improve at Everton to guarantee more consistent results moving forward.
However, with 30 games left to play, the Toffees will feel capable of building on their current 10th position in the top-flight.

Adam Aznou praises Mathys Tel on goal vs Leeds United
Everton completed the signing of left-back Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich over the summer.
Despite arriving at the Toffees in July, he has yet to make an appearance for Everton’s first team.
While Moyes has revealed his plan for Aznou and how he will be integrated into the first team, Everton has been told that loaning out Aznou could be the best option for all involved.
In the capital, Mathys Tel has faced similar battles at Tottenham, having started just twice in the Premier League this season.
Despite numerous setbacks, including being left out of Spurs’ UEFA Champions League squad for the league phase, the Frenchman has continued to put in the work, netting the opener for Frank’s side in a 2-1 victory over Leeds United.
Tel later took to Instagram on 4 October, posting a series of snapshots from the game.
Aznou, who played with Tel while at Bayern, replied: “Yesssssss” in support of his former teammate.
Given the struggles he has endured this season at the Lilywhites, and his subsequent response, Aznou can no doubt leap out of Tel’s book moving forward.
Beto should be looking at Mathys Tel for inspiration
Beto has netted just one goal in five Premier League starts for Everton this season in what has been a series of lacklustre performances from the forward.
In comparison, Tel has netted one goal for Spurs in two league starts and less than double the minutes played.
The striker has scored one goal from an expected 2.18 per 90 in expected league goals according to Sofascore.
This is a noticeable underperformance, with Tel netting from his first shot of the game against Leeds for Spurs.
- Beto has missed one big chance this season
- His conversion rate in the Premier League is 11 per cent
- He has had just 0.3 shots on target compared to 1.5 total shots taken per game
While Everton could create more for Beto, in terms of finishing in front of goal, he should take inspiration from Tel to improve his overall output.
