Premier League rivals to follow what Friedkins have done at Everton after ‘huge’ developments

Everton have benefited hugely from the Friedkin Group’s short time in charge of the club.

Dan Friedkin and Co have put in around £100million into Everton in new shares and backed David Moyes heavily in the transfer market.

Everton spent approximately £113million on new players this summer, which would not have happened without the American ownership.

However, the Friedkin‘s latest actions off the pitch may be even more impressive and have rival clubs following in their footsteps.

Everton set the blueprint for Premier League rivals to follow

Everton have recently left Premier League chiefs stunned with the work that they have done for supporters in the United States.

Finance expert Dan Plumley believes that we could see other teams follow the Blues’ attempt to crack the American market.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: “Yeah, definitely, not just Everton, but other clubs.

“From what I have seen, West Ham have sent an ambassador out there recently as part of the Premier League exhibition, a bit of marketing exercise.

“There are a lot of those clubs trying to do it, America is still a big market for the Premier League to get into.

“It is huge in terms of scope and population, so there is gains to be made, a lot of football fans in America are affiliated to a UK team now.

“Some of the biggest ones we know, but we have seen others make some ground, there is still a lot of potential new fans out there, that aren’t affiliated to a UK club yet, so it still helps to go on the recruitment drive.

“Everton have got some things they can bring into the mix now, that they did not have 18 months ago, the new stadium and everything that brings, the ownership connection as well, so it makes sense, I think they can make some good ground in that market.”

Everton can take advantage of the Friedkin Group’s connections

Given the Friedkins’ connection to one of the largest and most powerful nations in the world, in terms of both finances and influence, it would be foolish for the Toffees not to exploit that.

They already have a decent foothold in the nation, with Blues supporters clubs in several cities, and the revenue increase from expanding that fanbase in America is a no-brainer.

It ties in with success on the pitch though, so Moyes and Co need to pick up results, if they are to pick up new fans across the pond.
