Wayne Rooney picks out Everton star after what he has heard around the world
Everton have had a mixed start to the season, but many key players have caught the eye.
The Toffees are unbeaten at the Hill Dickinson Stadium so far, with a last-minute winner securing an Everton win over Crystal Palace last time out.
Jack Grealish netted his first Everton goal and sparked wild scenes on Merseyside as the Blues secured their first win in four games across all competitions.
Everton drew 1-1 with West Ham previously, and some frustration was evident, but there were still many positive performances on show.
It is the showcase of one star on Merseyside that has caught the eye of Wayne Rooney despite the global view away from Merseyside.

Wayne Rooney in glowing review of Jordan Pickford
Rooney has regularly spoken about Everton as a pundit, often sharing positive and constructive reviews of David Moyes’ side.
As a boyhood supporter, his thoughts and feelings certainly relate to supporters and typically go down well on Merseyside.
His latest review will certainly follow that trend after revealing how good he thinks Jordan Pickford has been for the Toffees.
The 31-year-old has already kept two Premier League clean sheets this campaign, but Rooney doesn’t believe he is in the worldwide debates for best goalkeeper.
In a quote shared by Match of the Day on 8 October, Rooney suggested that the England international should be in those sorts of conversations.
He said: “When people talk about keepers worldwide, he doesn’t get mentioned often, but he is definitely up there.“
Rooney right to praise Pickford at Everton
Despite being England’s number one for over seven years, there has always been an air of negativity surrounding the keeper.
Pickford has been superb for Everton in recent years as he has matured and become a consistent figure on Merseyside.

The ex-Sunderland man has consistently been one of the best shot-stoppers in the Premier League, but has never truly received the credit he deserves.
It is great to see a huge public figure like Rooney speaking out in such positive terms about Everton’s keeper.
