Theo Walcott loves this about Jordan Pickford after change he has spotted in Everton star
Jordan Pickford is arguably Everton’s most valuable asset.
Pickford has been excellent for Everton this season, with the Toffees sitting eighth in the Premier League table during the October international break.
This is hardly a shock for supporters who have been able to count on Pickford’s heroics since his transfer from Sunderland in 2017.
Pickford can break Gordon Banks’ England record of keeping the most consecutive clean sheets in a Three Lions shirt if he doesn’t concede any goals during the international break.
England are currently 3-0 up versus Wales, too.

Jordan Pickford has become more mature throughout his career
Pickford has made 78 caps for England, with his debut coming against Germany in November 2017.
Former Everton winger Theo Walcott played with Pickford between 2017 and 2021 and was full of praise for how he has emerged as an incredible goalkeeper over the years.
Ahead of England’s friendly match against Wales, Walcott told the BBC: “Jordan has calmed down a lot – I just think he has got a bit more mature.
“Earlier in his career, there were times I played with him where it felt like if he was bored in the game, he thought he had to do something, just to feel like he was involved.
“Now, though, I think he actually doesn’t mind taking a step back because he understands that it starts with the goalkeeper, and if he is calm, it helps the back four to be calm and the rest of the team too. He is not really involved in any scuffles anymore, and that is down to maturity.”
Pickford has proved to be reliable for the Toffees, with the 31-year-old making 326 appearances for the club whilst only missing 10 Premier League games in his Everton career.

He has clearly developed into a top player for the Toffees and has fought back against criticism that has suggested he isn’t imposing enough as a goalkeeper.
Pickford has an incredible penalty-saving record, and that was seen when he kept out Danny Welbeck in the 2-0 win over Brighton.
Pickford will stay at Everton despite rumours circling that he was heading for the exit due to his contract expiring in just over 18 months.

With Pickford set to remain in Merseyside, Everton fans will be pleased that they can continue to rely on their ever-present star.

Everton won’t have to worry about a new goalkeeper for the upcoming years
Aged 31, Pickford is arguably at the peak of his powers in his ninth season at Everton.
With goalkeepers typically retiring between 38 and 41, Pickford could easily be the Toffees’ number one for many years to come.
This is a luxury that few clubs around the world have, as signing a new shot-stopper can be incredibly tough.
Very few goalkeepers adapt smoothly to the Premier League, and Pickford’s presence ensures that Everton can focus their efforts in the transfer market on other positions.
Pickford has developed into a modern-day legend for Everton, and with his contract expiring in 2027, they’ll continue to reap the rewards from their fantastic goalkeeper.
