Beto set to face Everton axe as pathetic footage emerges on social media
Beto’s inclusion at Everton has often sparked mixed reactions.
Everton sit eighth in the Premier League, having had a very successful start to the Premier League campaign under David Moyes.
Jack Grealish has flourished on loan, while the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have also been crucial to the success that the Toffees have found so far.
However, one player to have barely contributed to that success is Beto, and his role in Everton’s starting 11 will surely under questioned after what he did on international duty.

David Moyes can’t keep sticking with Beto
Beto’s record at Everton isn’t exactly inspiring.
Since joining in 2023, the 27-year-old has scored just 17 goals in 80 appearances across all competitions, with just one of those goals arriving this season.
Beto has started all but two of the Toffees’ Premier League games so far this campaign, and aside from his goal in the 3-2 win against Wolves, has offered nothing.
The international break provided a chance for him to rekindle his form, but what he did in Guinea-Bissau’s defeat to Ethiopia will spark major concern.
His side lost 1-0, but Beto had a glorious chance to get his name on the scoresheet, but somehow missed an open goal from a few yards out, letting the ball quite literally go under his feet and out for a goal kick.
Everton have a talented squad, and one that can achieve great things this season, but the inclusion of Beto will only be a hindrance going forward.
Thierno Barry is already offering more than Beto
Thierno Barry may not have scored yet for Everton, but he has also only started twice so far this season.
That is despite the fact that his all-round game seems to be much better than that of Beto.
Thierno Barry | Stats per 90 | Beto |
0.20 | xG | 0.54 |
65.9% | Pass accuracy | 59.3% |
0.43 | Successful dribbles | 0.42 |
32.02 | Touches | 28.52 |
Beto’s xG per game is over double that of Barry, and despite starting more games, has just one more goal than him in the Premier League.
Barry offers a lot more to the team in terms of possession and reliability, which will only aid the likes of Grealish and Ndiaye.
This has to be the end of Beto’s starting role on Merseyside, and David Moyes surely sees that.
